When I heard about the report about organic food being no better than conventional food, I knew right away that it either had to be flawed or that it was funded by an entity that had ulterior motives. One example that I can remember to illustrate this common practice is when I read a report that stated soy consumption caused heart disease. Upon further research, I discovered that the study was funded by the National Cattlemen's Beef Association. Since I took basic statstics, advanced statistics and methodology in undergrad school for my Bachelor of Science in Psychology and conducted many studies and research for my Master's thesis, I knew firsthand how and why many studies can be inherently flawed, invalid and/or biased as a result of the researcher.
The following articles discuss some reasons why this study is considered to be flawed. Click Here: Organic Versus Conventional Food: UK Report Flawed

100% Organically Grown
Back in April, we posted information about organic gardening and pictures of our own organic garden on the terrace of our condo. Click HERE if you want to view that post for the first time or to refresh your memory.
We have fruit and vegetables growing now. The raspberries were the first to produce fruit and many of them have already been eaten by Tennessee and California. Here are some pics of our fruits and vegetables...
The beginning of Merlot grapes...
Little green tomatoes...
Blueberries that haven't turned "blue" yet...
and Raspberries that have already been picked :)
Heart Cakes
California brought me the Jiffy Cornbread Muffin mix and said "Pwease? Pwease Mama?". I thought about it for a minute and decided to make it for lunch. If you have read the "Who Are We Anyway??" section, then you probably already know that we are vegetarians.
I remember the days of when I grew up in the mid-south. We always had cornbread with a big ole pot of white beans or butter beans. So I decided to whip up a Southern California style lunch for my little veggie boys that included cornbread but a different kind of bean...
It consisted of the following items:
HEART CAKES!
Made with Jiffy Cornbread mix, two tablespoons of organic sugar, 1/3 cup organic milk, One organic, cage - free, omega - 3 egg and approximately 3 ounces of fresh organic blueberries.
Edamame (organic soybeans) and organic carrots....
mmmmm heart cakes!
mmmmm carrots!
Lunch was accompanied by a nice, cold refreshing cup of organic skim milk...
...all that is left are recyclables :) Everything that you see right here can, SHOULD and WILL be recycled. Remember every day is Earth Day!!
